I’m a Technical Director, Production Supervisor, and Graphic Designer at KTBS 3 News, where I’ve worked since 2022. My role sits at the intersection of live television production, broadcast technology, leadership, and visual design

As a Technical Director, I direct live newscasts and special productions using Sony broadcast switchers, automation, and Vizrt graphics systems. I’m one of only two people in our building trained to fully operate and program our production switcher, giving me the ability to not only direct a show, but also troubleshoot, program, and adapt the system when a production demands something new. My work has contributed to multiple Emmy-nominated productions. First News, the morning newscast I regularly directed, received a Mid-America Regional Emmy nomination for Best Morning Newscast.

Live television has also taught me how to perform when almost nothing goes according to plan. I’ve directed through severe weather and flooding, spent nights locked inside the station during an ice storm, navigated a major business disruption that took critical servers and systems offline, and kept broadcasts moving through complete station power outages when our resources were reduced to little more than a camera. During emergencies, I’ve even produced and directed a newscast simultaneously.

Those experiences have shaped the way I approach production: there is always a solution. Whether that means troubleshooting a technical failure seconds before air, rebuilding a workflow on the fly, or finding a completely different way to accomplish something, I’m committed to getting the show on the air.

As a Production Supervisor, I help lead a wide range of productions, including daily newscasts, political programming, special coverage, podcasts, livestreams, and other station projects. I work across departments to coordinate productions, solve technical challenges, develop workflows, and help our team execute ambitious ideas.

My work extends beyond the control room. As a Graphic Designer, I create visual content for KTBS 3 and KPXJ, station marketing, clients, and editorial productions. My projects range from urgent breaking-news graphics created on deadline to complete visual packages for community projects, health podcasts, special events, and long-form productions.
